In the world of books  available vijnanam [higher knowledge] found in two types of records.

Narration of Sidhantam [approved thathvam(essence)] and Sanketham [aggrements] is one type. Basic books of vijnanam explain sidhantam and sanketham.

The second is the book which stress the meaning of the first type. They expand and explain the knowledge.
